Random "Fun" pictures!!!!

Pictures from Grandpa and Grandma Longs 50 wedding celebration. Fun Fun!!!

I think the Professional pictures will be a little more "Professional" but these are still fun.

Abigail likes me!!!!

Logan and Max in the snow.

Logan with a more than average "unusual hair day" Abigail doesn't seem to mind.

Pictures ...Finally! Cam's Graduation!!!

Cameron graduated with a Bachelors Degree, in Physics from BYU Idaho. What a wonderful event, Rexburg was cold and snowy but the spirit of the event was strong. Pres Clark and Pres Uchtdorf both spoke. Awesome. Cam and Kim will be moving to Nebraska in January to begin a doctorate program at University of Nebraska in Lincoln.

Kelly was the proud Papa. I was a little pleased as well!

We were grateful for this chance to share in this pivotal event in the Cameron's life. We love you son!

Christmas party!

Tonight was the annual hospital Christmas party. Logan was my "date", Dad was the MC. Logan was very handsome in his suit and tie and spiky hair. The food was great. We had a family called Top String who performed, they were great.
The weather continues to be a problem. freezing snow tonight and about 8 degrees coming home. Its the kind of weather where you want to stay home and read a book by the fire, not Christmas shopping and parties. oh well.
We are all home safe and warm now, Max is tearing apart his toy cat, Logan is playing Wii music and Dad is working on his annual Christmas puzzle. Life is good!

Baby its "COLD" outside

It was -14 degrees driving to work this morning (driving very slowly I might add). Snow, ice, slick and oh baby "its cold outside". I came home from work where Logan wanted to go outside in the ice and snow (for about 3 minutes when he decided it was to cold), He didn't close the outside door to the garage and now "I have frozen water pipes". I am having a delightful day. And I'm thirsty!

But my furnace works and I have electricity. I will survive! .......... Again!

I will survive...I did survive!!!

This has been a busy few weeks, Sometimes I felt like the fox, sometimes the hound. But I did survive We all did!!!! Thanks to Thelma for e-mailing me this picture!

Thanksgiving week was great! We saw and spent time with all of our children and their spouses and "Abigail" (She is even more amazing in person than on the blog)! We stayed at the Bly Manor 5 Star with fabulous hosts!!! We had an early Christmas party, presents, money tree, games, movies, shopping and lots of food. We are very lucky and blessed to have such neat kids.
We had a lovely Thanksgiving dinner with all the Long Clan. My parents, siblings and many of their children and grandchildren were there (I believe we had close to 50 attending). We haven't seen some of the family for several years so it was nice to have a brief get together . The food was great and we had a nice family roadshow that was silly and fun.
The following day we attended a 50th anniversary celebration for my parents! The decorations and food were fantastic (I have some very talented, hardworking siblings) Again it was nice to see many faces that we had not seen for years, Mom and Dad have many dear friends and family who came to share in their special party. It was beautiful!
Eventually we had to come home to the real word. Thing at work are a bit stressful right now, A lot of change and that can sometimes mean tension and worry. But we will survive!!!!!
We have been putting up Christmas decorations and are almost done (just the tree left)! We are enjoying Christmas music . I actually went caroling last night (on the back on a trailer with hay bails etc). That was fun.
We have a lot going on this next week but then maybe we can settle in and relax a little. Till then Fox or Hound? I guess it depends on the day!!!

"Over the River and through the Woods"

I am on Thanksgiving/50th/Grand baby and all other family countdown. My bags are packed and I'm ready to go!!!! I feel like I am just checking of the "to do before I go" list and watching the clock.
Yesterday we raked leaves, hauled leaves and burned leaves! It was a 3 Advil night. Our yard looks a lot better but we still have a few loads to finish up when we get back.
Gabe H. is staying here while we are gone and I'm sure he and Max will "bond".
I know this is pretty boring stuff but I promised Marshall I would post even if it was just day to day stuff. The only exciting this I can think of lately is wearing plaid tights to church today. Dad thought I was scandalous. ;)

Trunk or Treat-

Last night was our ward "Trunk or Treat". We had a wonderful hour of silliness! About 20 car/pickup/vans participated. We actually has a haunted van (all the seats removed). Some people went all out! A lot of cute ideas represented. We had our jeep full of fall leaves and 6-7 pumpkins some were jack-o-lanterns, it was cute. Dads car was spiders/bats and a "skull" (alas poor Yorik, I knew him, Horatio).
I found a hat and was a cowgirl, Logan was Scary cape man/Dracula, Dad was a Utah Jazz fan, cap, sweatshirt and waving his huge Jazz Flag. He made all the trunk or treaters who came to his car yell "Go Jazz" before they got any candy. Their were a few fathers who refused to allow their children to stoop to such a level (mostly Blazer fans).
We had a huge turnout. I guess people like to dress up and act silly. I had a good time but was glad to have it over!!!!
I don't have to be in charge of anything for a few weeks now. Yah

Jack o lantern Home Evening

Tonight we are carving our Halloween pumpkins! We are getting ready for the Trunk or Treat on Wednesday eve. Logan and I have been researching ideas. We found some good ones.
I am going to dress up as a cowgirl, if I can round up a hat. Several people at work had hats but I am a little hesitant to use them since theirs are the real thing, manure included. I was also offered chaps and spurs....... Maybe I should be a princess instead.
I hope you all have a great Halloween experience. I think Abi is going to be as a angel/butterfly, Caleb a soccer player and Walter a minnow! lol
Logan is going as Dracula, or Paris Hilton (with Max as Pa Pee from the Beverly Hills Chiwawa, what an appropriate name for a chiwawa) he is not sure which one yet!!!! We will get pictures of whatever he ends up being. Dad is going as well. Any suggestions for his costume?

"For the Blogoholic"

Ok- Mrs. Bly admitted that she was a "blogoholic". I guess its genetic cause I really like to check my favorite's list as well. I have been so busy lately that I missed a few days, so today was catch up. Thanks to all the regulars who update often. I always leave with a smile.
I saw a great book today at work it was just a cute little book called: The Pig Of Happiness. If you ever get the chance- its worth it!

Logans Blog entry!!!!

Since Mom wont let me have my own blog I have decided to take advantage of hers. I am trying to get Mom to put pictures on here. I would like to say some thing while I am on here. I am not afraid of the Abigail alliance. Because the big uncle has just added a chapter to the Big Uncle Rule Book. Which says "that all baby organizations will not be allowed". I will also be making a Bigger Uncle Rule Book just for Abigail, Caleb, and Walter so be prepared little Abigail you do not know what you and your cousins are up against! mwahahahaha.

BEWARE THE LOGANATOR

Apples to Applesauce-

What a great fall day! I woke up early and washed "lots" of jars. Last Wednesday I went apple picking and picked about 12 big boxes of gorgeous golden delicious apples. I gave about 2/3 of them away and plan on making applesauce today. I am going to dry some as well. I like this time of year. I get in that baking, make soups and stews and quilting mode. Today its "applesauce"!!!
Maybe a pie!!!

Fall Camporee by Kelly

Logan and I had a nice weekend camping at the fall camporee at Bing Canyon. It was a cold crisp fall night and day but the boys had a great time and Logan got to associate with 6 other boys of similar age. He was more worried about having fun than getting advancement, but that's OK and he did do some of both. They had a blacksmith there who taught the boys about heating and shaping metal. Logan made a fork out of half of an old horseshoe. He was proud of his creation. We also threw tomahawks and shot arrows at the archery range. This afternoon we competed in a pioneering competition and race, Our boys are young and still have some learning to do but they each had a great time. Logan is worn out and went to bed tonight at 8 pm. I was going to take some pictures but the camera had dead batteries so you will have to use your imagination. I'm tired also but am glad to be back home with my good wife and a warm bed.

A GREAT WEEK!!!

We have enjoyed this past few days. Wednesday evening several of Logan's teachers and friends came over to share his ordination. The following evening Logan, Dad and I went with the youth to do baptisms. It was great to be there together. It was the 1st time for 3 of our youth. We had one young lady who is a friend of one of the girls who came and waited outside while we were in the temple. I had about 30 min to visit one on one with her and answer questions. The Y.W. had a slumber party afterwards at the Sparks. We watched the Trek DVD. from there trek this summer. What a great, hard, growing experience that was. All of the girls who participated said they would do it again in a heartbeat. It was a very nice evening!!!

IT WAS GREAT!!!

The Birthday /Slumber party was great!!!! The slumbering part was only about 4 hours of it, but it was still great. The four best friends Logan, Preston, Andrew and James had one last hoorah before school starts next week. They played Wii games and ate pizza and ice cream cake. There were pillow fights and Byakugan tournaments.
I loved watching these boys enjoy life, knowing that the childhood games and innocence wouldn't last much longer. I took a few minutes to talk with them, telling them that I appreciate the good friends that they are. They are bright and fun and come from families that want the best for them. I encouraged them to seek good thing in their lives and to avoid those things that would hurt them. I hope that I got my message across without sounding preachy. They are entering a whole new school situation this next year. They are going to have to be strong and support each other.
I love my family and want them to be happy. I know they are and that they can be by making good choices in their lives.

OK This is my second attempt at "Blogging"

Tonight we are gearing up for the "Big 12". We have a Big Bash planned with the usual "hoodlums", A long noisy night, lots of squealing and rough housing. Mom will be lots of fun to be around by about 1100 PM. (Logan states that I will not even be awake) LOL!!!!
I think that we are headed into the attitude years. I am getting more and more glimpses of the future terrible teenage years (sort of like the terrible twos but stinkier).
I hope the cards are in the mail. So we can open them at the party!!!! Nothing pink please!!!!

Happy 1 yr anniversary Cam and Kim. We love you!!!!

PARTY PARTY PARTY!!!!!
